Natural Glow

Not enough time to go to the tanning bed? Then this is a must-have product. Jergen's Natural Glow, tans your skin (without the sun damage), in just a few days. They even have their new firming lotion and their face lotion. The lotion ranges from light to medium to dark. First, pick the one closest to your skin tone and put the lotion on after each shower. I recommend putting it on every day and night. Wait until it dries before getting dressed, otherwise it will come out onto your clothes. This does not benefit your skin in any way. I think you will be impressed, however, with how natural of a glow your skin will have. This is not like other self-tanners. It is a lotion and it moisturizes your skin as it makes it glow!

Fake Nails

People are becoming so fake in the past few years. Everything about them from their hair to their nails to their eye color. Sometimes I am not sure if this is for the best. Influenced by Hollywood, everyone will eventually become a cookie cutter image of one another. One of the biggest fake mistakes I see a lot are nails. I like the French manicured tips, as long as they are not disgustingly long. Sometimes people go over the top with their nails like the picture shown to the left. When is a design too much? Would someone actually wear this to a professional job and look good? I doubt it. These nails look like hooker nails. They make you look cheap and tacky. So stick to the more "natural" look and go simple if you are going to get acrylic or gel nails. I do agree that the simple styles make you appear neat and clean. Otherwise, fake nails just make you look a bit trashy.

Cellphone Fashion

Cell phones are becoming more of a fashion statement than anything! People of all ages deck their phones out. They put gems, crazy covers, clips, and anything else they can find to "pimp" out their phone. A cell phone is a LIFE LINE, not a fashion accessory. It seems like people think cellphones are such a top priority for their fashion, they clip them to their belt loops. Wrist watches are becoming absent because of cellphones being an easy access for the time. People don't understand cellphones aren't a neccesity for your wardrobe, and should be tucked away in hidden places and used only when neccesary. I find it disturbing when people talk on their cellphones in restaraunts and other public places. Cellphones divert attention from the people you are socializing with and they shouldn't.

Gag-fume or Perfume

It is very hard picking the perfect fragrance let alone how much to spray on when you finally do. With Spring coming right around the corner, the more fruity scents are coming out. Whether you like love spell, breathe romance, very sexy for her, or whatever else perks up your nose you should only apply little doses. Some perfumes are very strong, and if too much is applied you not only smell like a french whore, but people will probably gag around you. If you are using a body mist, you are allowed to spray more than one spritz, it doesn't last as long and it isn't as strong. Guys are famous for spraying on to much cologne, and we automatically think he's covering up body oder, or he has no sense of smell. Don't be that type of sprayer, keep it light. So remember small spritz for perfume, and a little more for body mist.

Tips to Make your Makeup Last.. All Day

It is always a challenge to keep your fresh faced morning makeup looking just as good all day long. Here are some tips I found on seventeen.com from real girls for making your makeup stick.

#1. Try using L'Oreal Double Extend mascara. You apply a white base coat first, then a black coat, and it stays on all day.

#2. Make foundation stay on longer by blotting it when you start to get shiny, do not wipe it with a tissue. There are blotting papers you can buy and they are small and super easy to carry in your purse. - I use them!

#3. To keep lipstick on- take a neutral-colored eye shadow and put a little on your lips before you apply lipstick. It works like an adhesive making your color stick.

#4. Instead of a liquid or pencil eyeliner, use black eyeshadow as eyeliner. If you apply it with a wet brush it will stay on longer, look better, and it works for day or night.

#5. Put a light layer of foundation on your eyelids before you apply your eyeshadow to keep it from creasing.

There ya' go ladies. Some tips to keep your fresh spring makeup looking smart all day long!

Orangeous Spring Fashion

Evidently orange is the color of spring because almost every designer is dressing celebs and models alike all in bright orange! As you can see Victoria Beckham is sporting an all orange dress, as is One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush. The color is bright and springy but not for everyone.

This is an example of when a bad orange outfit happened to a good person. And it has gone all wrong! Not only is the dress loose and shapeless which makes her look huge! But she is wearing bright blue tights and silver shoes- not a good combo. But then again- you can't expect too much fashion sense from Bjork. I mean the woman showed up to past awards shows dressed like a duck!

Any who, just some orange food for thought! Happy spring everybody!

No More Holes.

(Written by: Christy Penney)
Jeans go with anything that you wear even if you’re dressing up in a casual way, jeans will make and outfit work. However these days jeans don’t seem to have much to them when girls and even guys wear them. Not to mention people will pay an arm and a leg to buy them. Who would have known that pants that look like you got run over by a car in them would be such a popular fashion statement. Most high top fashion stores sell them and many buy them. Everywhere you look now you will see a pair of jeans with more holes in them then swiss cheese.

They have seemed to become a huge fashion rage over the years. They started out by just having jeans with a few rips here and there so it was reasonably okay. However now there are so many holes in jeans that it’s hard to tell if you are even wearing pants or if you just glued patches of jeans to your leg. They have become quite horrendous in fashion and people will go out of their way to get them. Everyone loves the feeling of wind upon their legs in the cold winter air apparently.

Also they have jeans with holes that then get covered up by patches of multiple different jeans and colors of blue. It’s quite the fashionable look. Everyone must just like the look of torn up pants that make one look like they fell through a hole and tried to climb back out but wasn’t as successful as they needed to be.

If you want jeans with holes why not just make them yourself with a good piece of sand paper and scissors to make the look a little bit more of your own and so you don’t spend half your pay check on pants with pre cut holes and tears. I would think that would be a more logical route of wearing pants like those. People wonder why others have no money; it’s because of pants that people spend more on than they do a credit card bill.

Jean Jackets are Back!

Jean jackets are finally in! They are back from years of being tucked away. Jean jackets are one of the greatest fashion inventions. They are the ultimate fashion accessory. You can wear jean jackets with ANYTHING! And that is for sure. Jean jackets go with jeans, skirts, dresses, shorts. Anything that you can wear, they go with. You can wear them all year around, but the spring time is when they are most needed. I have a jean jacket that I wear all of the time because it is stylish and comfy. If you don't have one, you should find one. I     got mine for only 10 bucks at Aeropostale. So they are definitely out there, and definitely cheap! Have fun with your spring wear this time around, and go find yourself a stylish jean jacket!

This is one of my favorites. The dark blue jean jacket. I have a light blue jacket, but the dark blue matches jeans better and looks good with lighter colors.

Head Band fun!

Head bands are lots of fun! You can wear them with just about anything and they come in so many different colors and styles. Head bands aren't worn as much anymore because some people believe that they are mostly for children. They are wrong because head bands can be for any age! They make your hair look great, it doesn't matter how old you are! Have fun with them and don't care what other people think!

Check out these headbands, they sure are colorful and interesting! You could wear these with any style of clothing!

These head bands below are just as interesting but just in a different style. These may not be as comfortable, your ears might start to hurt for a while, but they do look just as great as the ones above. Some people like different things, and even though some people may not like head bands doesn't mean you don't have to. Just try one and see if you like it. Since Spring is here, it's time to try something different and fun!

Wristbands with Meaning.

(Written by: Christy Penney)

Wristbands have had quite the popularity for some time now. They come in all sizes ranging from baby size to XX-Large. They have multiple colors for each and every disease or organization that the bracelet stands for. They now even have bracelets that have quotes on them like “Princess” or “I love carbs”. They also have come out with ones for sports teams for both famous teams and schools depending on what you would like to have. You also can get them specially made with your name on it or whatever you desire to have put on the bracelet.

The ones for AIDS, Cancer, and Diabetes have become the most popular among people. They all started out with the yellow LIVESTRONG bracelet that you will see many wearing on their wrist everyday in support of the cancer foundation. They then advanced into all the different color bracelets for each cancer just like the colored ribbons.

They then came out with the one for AIDS which is a white bracelet with ONE written on it for the AIDS/HIV organization.

Then they came out with the diabetes bracelets which are red and have the American Diabetes Foundation written on it.

With those bracelets a portion of the proceeds goes towards each foundation that is selling the bracelets. Which is a good cause and you get a sweet bracelet to show for it!

If you see someone walking around with a million colored things dangled up their arms you now know what they represent. They either love sports, helping out the world or just like the color and quotes on them. Either way they have become quite the fashion trend among both children and adults.

The Perfect Lipstick!

It is so hard to know what kind of make up to get, let alone which color to buy.  There are so many different choices.  What is a girl to do?  Well I have got the answer for you in lip color.  Because every one has a different skin tone, each woman looks better in a different lip stick color.  For people with fair skin, berry colors, as well as beige and peach colors work well because they do not over power the lightness of your skin.  Medium and olive skin tones should stick with deep reds, darker pinks, light browns, and dark berry shades to compliment the shade of your skin tone.  Finally, dark skin tones should stick to dark toffees, deep plums and dark reds to bring out the beauty of your skin.  The same goes with eye make up and blush to compliment your skin tone as well as your lip color.  Hope that helps!

Eyebrows: The #1 Overlooked Part of the Face

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but eyebrows can either make or break your look.  Eyebrows seem to be the number one most overlooked part of the face.  This is sad because they do so much for a person's look.  Messy and untamed eyebrows put a label on a person to seem as if they don't even care about what they look like.  They may have their foundation done, along with their eyeshadow and their mascara, but if their brows are not shaped right, who cares about the rest of the face.  According to Ultimate-Cosmetics, eyebrows frame the eye to give the face a polished look.  If you don't know how to wax or tweeze your eyebrows yourself, go to a professional hairstylist.  Remember you do not want to over do it with your tweezing because this will leave a bad impression as well.  Good luck!

The Graduation Attire Dilemma

Flashback to 1980 to this lovely graduation outfit. It's white which is appropriate for an occasion such as graduation, but it's also boxy, stiff fabric and kind of... well ucky! Not to mention the bad perm is atrocious!

Now move with me into 2008. With graduation for seniors everywhere just a few weeks away it's time to start considering what to wear under that never flattering cap and gown combo we will all be sporting on this glorious occasion.

Now this little number is cute, contemporary, classy and perfect for your parents graduation memories of you! It will go easily underneath your graduation duds and you can wear a variety of shoes with it. I think that graduation is a time to wear something dressy but not prom-style. This would fit the bill. Some other great choices can be found at forever21.com and Banana Republic stores.

Happy graduation dress hunting!

Scarves as a statement

Women have always used scarves to accent an outfit. Silk scarves called pashminas have been popular for a long time in most European countries but have recently made a big comeback in the US also. I bought a light blue one in Italy and absolutely love it! It's bigger than a regular scarf and very soft. It can be used as a wrap or a scarf wrapped various ways around your neck.

The guys to the left are all wearing distinct looking scarves. I think it's cool for guys to use accessories like a scarf as a new way to ad flair and a statement to their outfits.

So go on guys- grab some scarves and make some fashion magic!

The Popularity of Piercings

Each day people are getting piercings and each day they are getting them in the oddest of places. The most common of places is of course the ears. However now girls and guys are getting piercings in their nose, eyebrow, belly button, neck, lip, tongue etc. There's no limit to where you can have a piercing. To some people it is disgusting, and to some it is a fashion statement. I have only my ears and belly button pierced, but I have friends who have probably 12-15 piercings total on their bodies. It's becoming a popular fad like tattoos. Below are two examples of unique piercings.

This is called a nape piercing located on the neck.

This is a monroe piercing located by the mouth

These are some interesting places for piercings, but they can sure get worse! But remember to some people piercings are a way of expressing someone's individuality. So this may be a beautiful sight to some. I'm not saying go out and get a unique piercing. I'm saying do whatever suits you.

Spring Wear!

It's almost spring! That means time to dress in your spring clothes! I know I'm excited to pull out my skirts, shorts, flip-flops, tank tops and dresses. You should also be excited because you can go shopping and get a whole new wardrobe! Shopping for spring clothes is so much more fun than shopping for winter clothes because of the numerous selections. You can find outfits that will match or mix and match with each other. You can even get a bag that will match your outfit. You can even get sunglasses that go with your outfit as well. Going shopping for accessories is almost as fun as shopping for clothes! There are limitless options! And of course, even more exciting is dressing for the summer! And yes that means bathing suits! It's still a little ways away, but you will be seeing bikinis and one piece suits in almost any store you go to. So have fun shopping, and find some clothes that you can have fun with!

Here is a cute tank top and skirt that you could wear!

Now go out and get yourself a new outfit that you will enjoy!

Bring the Princess out in You.

(Written by: Christy Penney)
Girls deserve to feel like a princess every now and then. That’s why now a lot of times you will see that girls have taken wearing tiaras to an all new level. You will find that girls are not just wearing them to proms and birthdays anymore. They have now gone into sometimes wearing them with many of their outfits to add glamour or maybe even just brighten up the look.

Tiaras have come a long way with the way they are shaped and styled. They are no longer just plain diamond and all the same or relatively close. They now come in multiple colors, and many different shapes and jewels that are put on them. Some tiaras are huge in size where they cover up a good portion of your head while others fit your head perfect and sit lightly on top illuminating your face. They even now have miniature tiaras used to slide in on your ponytail or fit perfectly in those little hairstyles that just needed something added to it.

Tiaras are right for every occasion now and even just for a night out on the town. So if you need to add something to you hair or to add some charisma to the outfit, try a tiara on. Bring the princess out in you.

Luck of the Irish.

(written by: Christy Penney)

St. Patrick’s Day is a very well known holiday among a lot of people. Everyone has a different way of going out and celebrating the holiday. Whether it be rounding a few friends up to go hit up the bars or having a big blow out party at your house. People will come out to join in on the festivities.

With every festivity there comes a dress up plan for each person. Women and men will both dress up for St. Patrick’s Day in their own unique way. Some will go all out with beads, shamrocks, hats and even crazy green glasses. It has even been seen that people will actually go to all heights and paint their faces green or with Ireland colors to show off their spirits.

While some others may just buy a simple green t-shirt, shoes, belts or some other accessory to accommodate the spirit of the holiday. However a lot will be seen wearing the Boston Celtics Jerseys or t-shirt that is green with usually a shamrock printed on the shirt somewhere. The Boston Celtics shirts on St. Patrick's Day have become quite popular among many out there as well as people wearing shirts that relate to Ireland in some way.

Seeming as Ireland is where St. Patrick’s Day is huge and you will find many people dressed up from bottom to top in green.

Whether you decide to join in on the entertainment on St. Patrick’s Day with your green craziness or just not participate at all. You will find that there are many different fashions going on all over the world for dressing up on this particular occasion.

Organize Your Fashion

I don't know about you, but I am a very organized person.  I have everything in order from my closet to my jewelry.  I think in order to be fashionable, things should be in order so you can mix and match without taking forever.  To the left is a picture of a hanging canvas with individual pockets to put your necklaces and bracelets in separately.  I use this all the time and it works great.  My necklaces don't get tangled and I can find just what I'm looking for within a matter of seconds.  Not only does it have pockets in the front, it also is the same exact style in the back.  So if you're like me and have tons of jewelry I suggest getting one of these.  I also have an earring holder and a shoe bag from the same company.  You can get all of these items at Organize It! They have everything for organizing your room and even other parts of your house.  This is great if you recently moved into a new apartment or home.  Everything is very stylish on this website and you will have yourself organized in no time!

Tattoos

It seems like everyone in the 18 to 24 year old category has at least one tattoo or wants to get one.  Even in Hollywood, most of the actors, actresses, and people in the music industry have at least one or more tattoos.  Tattoos are the new fashion trend to show off an image or words that represent a meaningful situation in your life.  Or you can just get a cute design to show off to your friends.  The only thing that I would watch out for is where you get your tattoo.  Depending on your next job choice, however, you may or may not want to get a particular design or get a tattoo where it is seen to the public eye.  Either way, tattoos may be looked down upon by most folks of the older generation, but it is a great way to express yourself and it will last a lifetime.
